Exploring the Role of Government Agencies,


Academic Agencies and NGOs. On May 23, the 2019 Save the World Global Forum was held in Songdo, Incheon. The theme of the international forum was "Establishing global networks for sustainable life-saving efforts". The first speaker of the academic session was Cho Hung-sik, president of the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs. He speeched "As citizens of the world, we need a global civil education that gives them a sense of responsibility and a sense of role." And continually he speaked, "We will have a positive effect of increasing participation in blood donation through education that improves the need for blood donation and awareness of blood donation." by the presentation; 'The Necessity of Global Citizenship and Blood donation Education'.
 
The topic of Nina Anderson Nursing Practice Doctor’s(Executive Director of TOVA community Health, USA) presentation is ‘Blood donations for sickle-cell patients begin in the community’. If the abnormal hemoglobin produced by the gene abnormality is accumulated on the red blood cells, the shape of the red blood cell itself is different. Modified erythrocytes are easily destroyed by slight stimulation and fail to pass through capillaries, leading to anemia and organ dysfunction, which is called sickle cell anemia. Dr. Anderson added “Sickle cell anemia is not a complete cure other than a periodic transfusion. In order to encourage blood drive, it is also important to inform the situation of patients who need transfusion”
Lee Jong-hyun, director of the anesthesiological pain department at Sejong Hospital, predicted that the ‘patient-centered blood management program’, which gives blood only as much as necessary, will somewhat solve the difficulties of blood supply under the theme of ‘patient-centered blood management for children with heart disease’
 



Global lecture and Life-saving will heightened by passion of the audience



After the announcement, panel discussion and question-and-answer session followed as chair of Ewha Womans University’s School of Nature Science professor, Lee Hye-kyoung.
Experts also enthusiastically answered the participants' hot attention and questions, including the NGO's role in life-saving, government policies and ways to cooperate internationally.
In this day's forum, Jang gil-ja, the Chairwoman of the International WeLoveU Foundation promised that she works forward to make the global network for substainable saving life efforts with the groups of many countries. So she signed a MOU(memorandum of understanding) with the Ambassador of Honduras in Korea, the vice chairman of Disaster Response Standing Committee of Honduras, the Chile Executive Director of Metropolitan area of Ministry of Health, the Chairman of Iraqi WeDoHelp, Takabashi Deputy Director of Bangladesh and TOVA Community Health Executive Director for humanitarian supporting cooperation. In the additionas events, the display of panel was held and the its subject was Receving Life without Cost, and Sharing without Cost.

The panel which comprised of what blood donation is about and the reason for donating blood and how to do it increased will of action in regard with the importance and necessity of blood donation and sustainable life-saving efforts. At the end of panel, blood can only be shared between people and people, so they expressed “family of the global village formed with blood” with string art.
 
Throughout the forum, the Song-do Convensia Premier Ballroom in Incheon was filled with enthusiasm of participants who wanted to listen to the lectures of experts from all walks of life. Participants commented through this lecture they realized how important international life-saving efforts are, considering the problem of lacking of blood supply around the world is not the matter of others.

Jung Gun Ho(Seoul Uni) realized the necessity of global network and the importance of blood drive through international forum after listening to the lecture carefully and looking aound the event place here and there. He said that he felt very proud and joyful to share his blood for saving a single and precious life. He already participated in walkathon which was held by Int. WeLoveU foundation in the beginning of May and he hoped that more universities would partake in this kind of meaningful events. He also revealed his ambitions to join more activities of the International WeLoveU Foundation saying that he wants to help international life-saving efforts.
Tray Conelius (Professor,USA) said “Blood carries the body's nutrients for the health of the body”. In this point, Blood Donation is important acts that benefit the health of me and others” and also he said “It is very meaningful that an international forum was held on topics such as health and blood donation that many people should know.”

    Blood donation is life-saving efforts. So, It is important that many people will be interested in blood donation and be awareness of importance of blood donation.
